Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of this website. Accessing a page, reading its content, or using a search feature means that you accept the terms below. If you disagree with any condition, do not continue to use the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run website is not connected with a local, state, or federal government body. It is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners provide tools intended for employment screening, credit decisions, tenant evaluation, insurance underwriting, or another purpose controlled by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource helps people locate Stanton County and Nebraska criminal-record sources.

1. What This Website Is

Stanton County Criminal History is an independent reference site. It does not hold government records, perform official background checks, retrieve files, or submit documents for a visitor. It points to custodians such as the Stanton County Sheriff, County Court, District Court, Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.

Public access to Nebraska government records is governed in part by the Nebraska Public Records Act, Neb. Rev. Stat. §§84-712 through 84-712.09. Release of criminal-history information also follows Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523. Those laws govern official custodians, not this private site.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You may use the resource only in a lawful way. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Violate federal, Nebraska, or local law
  • Threaten, stalk, harass, or intimidate another person
  • Use the content for employment, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any site system
  • Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
  • Disrupt access or burden the service for other visitors

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. This rule is especially important for Nebraska Sex Offender Registry data. Nebraska law restricts misuse of registry information, and retaliation against a registrant can have criminal consequences. Registry information is published for safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

This site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no consumer, credit, or background report. Its content and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Make a hiring, firing, or promotion decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Decide eligibility for a license, benefit, permit, or program
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

Anyone who needs a legally compliant report for a regulated purpose must use the Nebraska State Patrol or a consumer reporting agency that follows the FCRA and other applicable law.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Stanton County charge, warrant, conviction, set aside, sealing rule, or other legal issue affects a particular person. Advice about a specific matter should come from a Nebraska-licensed attorney.

6. No Warranties

The website and its contents are supplied "as is." No promise is made that:

  • Every statement will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Every page will be free from defects or security weaknesses
  • A partner tool will return a full or correct match

Government files change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, restricted, or set aside. Nothing displayed here is an official statement by a Nebraska court, sheriff, repository, or other government custodian.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to courts, the sheriff, state agencies, legal organizations, and outside search providers. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own policies apply. This site does not control an outside provider's content, price, data practices, accuracy, uptime, or terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, the site's text, graphics, branding, and code belong to Stanton County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, redistributed, or used to create another work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and its operators are not responsible for loss or damage arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, fees, and related costs caused by your use of the site or a violation of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Nebraska law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Nebraska, subject to any law that requires a different venue.

12. Changes to These Terms

The terms may be revised from time to time. A revision takes effect when the updated language is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one part invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. The affected language will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
